Tripwire has assembled a list of what it assesses to be the top information security conferences for 2019. The Amazon Web Service “RE:INFORCE” conference (June 25-26 in Boston, MA) has separate tracks intended for security engineers as well as C-suite executives. THOTCON (May 3-4 in Chicago, IL) will address topics that include industrial control systems and the Internet of Things. Several of the conferences involve hands-on learning sessions that provide a chance to stay current with critical computer security issues, including ShmooCon (January 18-20 in Washington, DC), Hack in the Box (May 6-10 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands), and DerbyCon (September 18-22 in Louisville, Kentucky). There are some perrenial favorites among the top 20, including SANS 2019 (April 1-8 in Orlando, FL), the RSA Conference (March 4-8 in San Francisco, CA), and DEF CON (August 9-11 in Las Vegas, NV). While many of the conferences entail a registration fee, InfoSecurity Europe (June 4-6 in London, UK) is free, and as such has always attracted thousands of attendees. Tripwire encourages cybersecurity practitioners attend at least one conference per year. Read the full article at Tripwire.
