In carrying the cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility banner, Australia just outlined its Strategy to invest $1.67 billion over ten years to help secure Australia’s governments, businesses, and community. The Strategy includes protecting and actively defending the country’s critical infrastructure which the report states has been impacted by approximately 35% of cyber incidents during the past year, including water. Similar to efforts by U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS's) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Australia aims to create a more secure online world for Australians, their businesses, and the essential services upon which they all depend. The Strategy identifies roles and responsibilities of government, businesses, and the community, and includes comprehensive matrices outlining initiatives for the action plan and implementation and measurement by each entity toward success.
