The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has published a Public Venue Security Screening Guide describing options for consideration when developing and implementing security screening procedures for large gatherings. While this guide is intended primarily for the commercial facilities sector, which hosts events like sports competitions and music concerts, its contents can still be applied by entities in other sectors that conduct security screenings, such as for visitors. It describes procedures for using screening equipment, conducting physical searches, and identifying and handling prohibited and suspicious items. Access the guide at CISA.
