Yesterday President Biden announced he was making $1 billion available to communities to help them prepare for hurricanes, wildfires, and other natural disasters. The funds will go to the Building Resilience Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program and amount to a doubling of the funding available last year. When making the announcement, Biden warned of a busy hurricane season ahead, referencing the recently released NOAA forecast, as well as of the approaching fire season. “We can never be too prepared,” Biden said. “We’re going to spare no expense, no effort, to keep Americans safe and respond to crises when they arise. And they certainly will.” Read more at the Washington Post.
