If your utility has been putting off participating in a tabletop exercise (TTX) because it seems too resource-consuming, CISA has an alternative. Similar to its CTEPs (CISA Tabletop Exercise Packages), CISA released a new toolkit called the “Secure Tomorrow Series” designed to be self-facilitated and completed with fewer staff in less time. These free voluntary resources are available to stakeholders in every critical infrastructure sector to assist in identifying and examining risk mitigation strategies, managing uncertainty, and encouraging strategic foresight methods in long-term planning. The Secure Tomorrow Series includes activities focused on topics that are likely to have highly disruptive impact across multiple National Critical Functions. According to CISA, the Secure Tomorrow Series Toolkit will assist stakeholders across the critical infrastructure community to derive actionable insights about the future, identify emerging risks, and develop risk management strategies that, if taken today, could enhance long-term critical infrastructure security and resilience. Like CTEP, the Secure Tomorrow Series Toolkit includes a full set of guides to assist facilitators, players, and controllers so there is no guess-work in executing the activities. Visit CISA to get started with the toolkit.
