Last week, FEMA released an updated version of its mobile app offering users additional features, personalized options, and resources for increasing their preparedness and resilience before, during, and after disasters.
The updated app can help users plan before a disaster, protect themselves and their property during disasters, and access tools to help with recovery following a disaster. In addition to all-new features like disaster declaration notifications and frequently asked questions on assistance applications, popular features such as weather alerts, emergency shelter locations, and disaster recovery center information will remain, but with an entirely new design interface. Preparedness resources on the FEMA app have also been updated and simplified and provide interactive preparedness information grouped by topic. “FEMA is committed to providing families with the tools and information they need to keep themselves and their loved ones safe from disasters,” said FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell. “By advancing our mobile app technology, we are better helping communities plan, protect and recover from disasters through clear, effective and relatable communication.” Read more at FEMA.
