On November 14, nearly 250 members and partners of the water and wastewater sector joined WaterISAC and the National Association of Water Companies for a webinar they cohosted on how utilities can develop plans to have adequate fuel supplies after disaster strikes. Jim Wollbrinck, manager of security and business resiliency at San Jose Water, and Dr. Justin Cochran, nuclear policy advisor and emergency coordinator at the California Energy Commission, discussed the steps necessary to coordinate emergency fuel supply planning between utilities and emergency management agencies. The program also included Ryan Hanretty, executive director of the California Fuels and Convenience Alliance, who described the logistics required to deliver fuel during an emergency.
