The National Security Agency (NSA) has just released Selecting and Safely Using Multifactor Authentication Solutions, which it intends to help partners more securely select and use multi-factor authentication (MFA) capabilities. In addition to presenting criteria to consider when selecting a solution, it contains a table assessing numerous MFA solutions by standards presented in the National Institute of Standard and Technology’s (NIST’s) Digital Identity Guidelines (SP 800-63-3). The NSA adds that although this guidance has been provided for government stakeholders, it may be useful to broader audiences. Access the document at the NSA.
