Bridget Johnson, managing editor at Homeland Security Today and a prolific author of articles and analyses on security issues, was asked to provide her perspectives on threats to critical infrastructure in a series of interview questions. Bridget discusses how terrorist activities in 2018 favored smaller, isolated attacks that involved low-tech weapons, the dangers posed by domestic extremists groups and as well as perpetrators who aren’t linked to any particular ideology (e.g., the shooter in the 2017 Las Vegas incident), and the importance of hardening facility soft spots through “red team” activities. In her answer to the interview’s concluding question, Bridget offers her thoughts on the direction and intent of terrorist groups in 2019. Read the article at Homeland Security Today.
