In Hurricane Erick’s wake, Tropical Storm Flossie may track farther to the north, potentially passing directly over the Hawaiian Islands. As of 0500 HST today, Flossie was located about 1,580 miles east of Hilo, Hawaii and proceeding west-northwest at 16 mph. Current projections from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center estimate Flossie will reach Hawaii by Monday. Similar to Erick, Flossie is expected to continue to diminish in intensity as it approaches Hawaii. But even if this weakening continues and Flossie passes to the north, it will still likely bring another round of heavy rainfall and rough surf.

For the latest updates on Flossie's track and anticipated effects, members are encouraged to visit the Central Pacific Hurricane Center. Additionally, WaterISAC will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as necessary. It stands ready to assist members with any unmet needs and can be contacted at [email protected] and at (202)331-0479 and (866)H2O-ISAC.
